John 4:1-42. Many time we as a believers try to remind God what He supposed to do for us. “Lord you have promised me this or that and now is the time you do it for me”. Lord it was the deal you said you would do it for me, now where are your promises?
In the gospel of John Jesus is passing through Samaria and there He meet this Samaritan woman. In the conversation He come to the point where he says Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
And then the woman asks about that water. Lord give me that water I need it so much. Thank you for understanding my need and providing for it. Thank you that you see what I go through in my day-to-day life and you have brought a perfect solution for me. Thank you for the deal. The deal is deal. I need that water.
But wait a minute lady. Where is your husband? Bring him as well. Sir I do not have. You are right… but sir, forget about my husband what about the water? Where is the deal? You said you will do it, now do it please I need it. Sure why not but where is your husband bring him.
I feel may time this is how we go on and on in our conversation with the Lord. “Lord the deal is deal now do it for me”. We need to be sure about one thing that the promises of God are yes and amen in Jesus Christ for us. He will do it what he has promise.
He will fulfill what He has said He will do. But what about us. Are you ready to listen to Him before He move in your situation, in your life. Are you ready to obey Him in all that He asks you to do? Are you ready to be true before the Lord in everything and in every situation of our life? The bible tells us our obedience pleases God 1 Sam 15:12.
So there is no doubt about His promises. But I believe more than the deal or what He will do for us, He is more in-trusted in what He will do in us. Our breakthrough will come and we will receive our miracle but before that He wants us to become a true and obedient Christian. A true follower of Christ who will follow Him even in small matters and do as He asks to do.
So the question is not Lord where are your promises or will you do it for me but the Question is for us will I be true to the Lord in everything that He asks me to do?
Are you true to the Lord?
